Deadly Holiday Reunion by Lenora Worth

Book Description:

A CHILD'S LIFE WAS IN JEOPARDY

Texas Ranger Jake Cavanaugh will do anything to rescue his kidnapped daughter from the clutches of a killer. And that means turning to Ella Terrell—his high school sweetheart—for help. The former FBI agent is lucky to be alive after her own encounter with the vengeful madman. And now history seems to be repeating itself this holiday season. Ella needs time to sort through the past—yet time is a luxury they don't have. For the kidnapper is taunting them with misleading clues and a ticking clock. But Ella will bring Jake's child home at all costs—even at the risk of losing her heart and her life….

My Thoughts:
I liked this one.  Ella knew Jake wouldn't have come to her except for an emergency.  With their past, there was no way he would ask for her help if he had any other choice.  Jake went running to Ella, both to confirm she was ok and to ask for her help in finding his kidnapped daughter.  The only reason she was being dragged into this was the same killer had abducted her years before and she managed to escape.  Following his clues in this twisted game is the only way to save Jake's daughter.
I really liked Ella.  She was a great character who had plenty to be terrified of and every reason to not help Jake.  Their past started with being high school sweethearts who because of stubbornness didn't stay together and then thrown together in a case that didn't go the way they anticipated.  Jake was a good man.  Honestly, I can't imagine being romantically involved with anyone while my child was missing, but he did have issues with it that were understandable.  Overall, the plot was good and the characters were great.
This was a 4/5.  Very good suspense and romance.
