My Thoughts:
Sala is always a great read. Dori has had her share of issues but always thought that she had good neighbors that would help her. Johnny has always been on the wrong side of the tracks and no one ever expected anything good out of him. When Dori's house burns and she and her child need a place to stay, none of the 'friends' jump to help her, but Johnny does. Through a twisted set of events, the two come together and figure out that they can rely on each other through the hard times.
This story kept me interested from start to finish. I had an idea of what was going to happen, but what I thought would happen usually wasn't the case. I liked both Johnny and Dori, they were great characters and the kids just added to the greatness. I really felt sorry for Dori as everything was happening and her 'friends' turned out to be the ones that she couldn't rely on. Johnny was a great guy with a big heart. This one is staying on my 'keeper' shelf.
It was absolutely a 5/5!
